Ruth Marriott
Ruth Marriot (continuo 'cello) studied the 'cello at Chetham's School of Music, and went on to read Music at Christ's College, Cambridge. Whilst at Cambridge, Ruth was a member of the Instrumental Awards Scheme, a Choral Exhibitioner at Christ's, and also played in the University Chamber and Symphony Orchestras. Ruth is a keen performer of early music, and has been involved in several concerts as a continuo player with such groups as the University Baroque Ensemble, contrapunctus xiv, and the Sagittarian Consort: most recently in J. S. Bach's St John Passion conducted by David Hill. Having taken part in Tamerlano, Ruth is very excited to be involved once more with CHOG, and is especially enjoying the challenges of playing a baroque instrument.
