James Hurley
James Hurley's (assistant director, assistant stage manager) directorial credits include Mozart's Cosė fan tutte, David Mamet's Oleanna, Stephen Belber's Tape, Rameau's Les Incas du Perou, and Sam Shepard's States of Shock. Outside the theatre, James has made several short films, including A Beautiful Pursuit and Not in Service, and has recently produced Quadraginta, a concert of Renaissance choral polyphony, at the Round Church. Onstage, James has been the Judge in Trial by Jury, Tom in The Little Sweep, and the Lord Chancellor in Iolanthe. Later this year, he will assist Ashley Dean on Surrey Opera's upcoming production of The Marriage of Figaro and he will also begin work on his own production of Don Giovanni for the Cambridge University Opera Society. James is a finalist reading English at Gonville and Caius College.
