Elisabeth Heighway (chorus: soprano) is in her second year reading Music at Selwyn College, Cambridge. At The Abbey School, Reading, she was a soprano soloist in Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Britten's Ceremony of Carols. Her first experience of opera was playing Josephine in Gilbert and Sullivan's HMS Pinafore and later she was Belinda in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas. She studied singing with Matthew Brook, and was a member of the Sainsbury's award-winning Berkshire Youth Choir. During her summer holidays she took part in Eton Choral Courses, where she recorded a number of live broadcasts for radio. Elizabeth holds a choral award at Selwyn College, and sings with the University Chamber Choir. She has also given solo recitals, including a performance of Couperin's Leçons de Ténèbres at the Fitzwilliam Museum, and has taken part in many productions, most recently Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel.
